Tynrai Ngi Pynneh ka thong ngin beh
Lawjynriew is a historic shnong located within the Nongthymmai Urban Agglomeration of Shillong City. Established in the early 1870s, it began as a small settlement of the Kharkongor Clan and has gradually developed into a vibrant and diverse community.
Today the shnong consists of approximately 2,198 households with more than 7,299 residents, representing a blend of cultures, traditions, and communities.
Situated below the foothills of Lum Shyllong and easily accessible from the National Highway, Lawjynriew has become an important residential and educational hub. The locality is home to prominent institutions such as the Indian Institute of Management Shillong and the National Law University Meghalaya, along with several schools and colleges.
